See our Terrarium Care and FAQ Page.
CARE AND MAINTENANCE IN POTS
These mini plants can be planted indoors in pots or outdoors in warm climates.
Remember that each plant is unique, so closely monitor your plant and adjust its care based on its response. By providing the right conditions, you'll be rewarded with a stunning and healthy plant that adds a touch of tropical elegance to your indoor space.
Light
Provide medium to bright, indirect light for your plants. They can tolerate lower light conditions, but its coloration and growth may be affected. Avoid exposing it to direct sunlight, as this can scorch the leaves.
Temperature
Maintain a comfortable room temperature between 65-80°F (18-27°C). Keep it away from cold drafts and sudden temperature fluctuations.
Watering
Allow the top inch of the soil to dry out before watering. Water thoroughly when needed, but ensure that the pot has proper drainage to prevent waterlogged roots.
Soil
Use a well-draining potting mix to prevent overwatering. A mix of regular potting soil, perlite, and peat moss or coconut coir works well.
Fertilization
Feed your plants with a balanced, diluted liquid fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season (spring and summer). Reduce or eliminate fertilization during the fall and winter when growth slows down.
Humidity
These plants can tolerate average indoor humidity levels. However, they may benefit from increased humidity. Misting the plant or using a humidity tray can help.
Pruning
Trim any yellowing or dead leaves to maintain the plant's appearance and encourage new growth. You may also prune stems to keep a desired shape and/or size.
Potting
Repot your plant when it becomes root-bound or outgrows its current container. Repotting is best done in the spring.
Pests and Diseases
Keep an eye out for common houseplant pests like spider mites, thrips, aphids, and mealybugs. If you spot any pests, take action promptly with appropriate treatments.
